My Stamping Resolutions for 2016

My Stamping Resolutions for 2016

I have been able to spend some time thinking about my stamping resolutions for 2016 since I am not currently working at my normal full time job,and what I would like to achieve for the coming year. These are some of the stamp resolutions or plans that I thought about and plan to work on for the coming year.

  • I had the usual – I plan to continue to eat clinkers to get the creative juices flowing but the growing waist line is not supportive of continuing this resolution.
  • Drink more water – I downloaded an app that sends me notifications to work on this one, so far so good but the diet coke withdrawal headache is a killer.
  • Print more photos – Santa delivered a nice cheque so once that clears from the bank I am thinking a Canon Selphy might be in order so that I can print from my iphone to the Selphy whilst in the craft room would be ideal.
  • To Project Life more frequently – I love to scrapbook but feel that I am useless if you give me a 12 x 12 piece of card stock. I love project life and how quickly you can bung out the pages. I sat yesterday and got about 6 back to back pages done and it was all so simple. I now just want to bling it up a bit more.
  • To research more about blinging up the Project Life pages. I am a member of some great PL face book groups and I am in awe of how creative these girls are. I want to research and get more ideas from them.
  • I want to not buy any greeting cards AT ALL this year.
  • I want to post more random cards
  • I want to continue my random acts of kindness ideas on pinterest and do some frequently.
  • I plan to block out time in my diary to just stamp, scrap and create in my craft room.
  • I would like to learn an easier way to watermark a number of photos quickly
  • I promise to send a monthly newsletter – have you signed up to receive this?

What makes a memory?

treasure-memoriesRemember the last time you were given a handmade card? It may have been for your birthday or a thank you for doing something nice for someone else, or just because you are you. This is what makes me smile and is one of the great things in being a creative person. These cards that have been made with love and thoughts about the person while they were being made are Memory Creations. This is part of my passion with Stampin Up Creating cards that will become memories. What cards get kept? Do you have a collection of these special cards?? Comment below about your favorite card and why it’s special to you?

Card class Fail – That’s Ugly

Have you ever been running a card class or been to a card class and your instructor is about to teach you to watercolour for the next card. She brings it out to show you all excited about how clever she is and one of the guests says “I’m not making that – It’s Ugly!”

Talk about deflated! Lucky I love this guest too and it just shows that we all have different styles. Isn’t that one of the great things about stamping and creating with others?

We didn’t make this card but is it really that bad? Please leave me a comment below or share with me what you think is a ugly card. I will send a gift to the best Ugly card posted on my Facebook page or blog by the 15th of August!

Long live the Ugly cards!

Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!

Tin of Cards

How Cute is this tin of cards and its a project kit too which makes it super easy to make

Tin of cards project kit showing some of the designs in the kit

Every Wednesday Stampin’ Up Releases Weekly deals and I am happy to share this weeks with you. I know that I am going to put in an order for the File Tabs Edgelits Die. Some of the girls at my catalogue launch were excited about the Tin of Cards Project kit and these Framelits will make our lives a little easier in that class.

How cute its going to be to have a little tin box full of cards and all neatly filed by the type of card that they are. That really excites my OCD Tendancies!

I am also thinking of placing one of the tins at my workplace so people can buy handmade cards to give to friends and family rather than a shop bought one.

You can click on the items below and be taken directly to my store.

Convention Swap 2015 Gold Coast

Cracked Glass Technique

Cracked Glass Technique

This is my swap for the Stampin Up Convention for 2015 on the Gold Coast. We have just arrived today and I wanted to share with you a sneak peek of my Swap. Swaps are a great way to meet people but also to get some ideas from other fellow demonstrators. It is a crazy busy time with people swapping madly, I will try and get some pictures of the madness.

So my swap is a little plain compared to other years but this is a showcasing a technique that I had wanted to try for a long time. Cracked Glass is applying layers and layers of clear embossing powder and then allowing it to dry and then cracking it. I did about 3-4 layers and just bent it carefully. Most of the time it cracked well other times if I was too rough it snapped the card. I know it may be hard to see but hopefully you can see the cracks. You can also run a sponge or ink over the cracks to make it stand out a little more. I didn’t do this on this card.
